I am writing to ask permission to use some of your pictures and or
backgrounds to use on our web site we are doing for a project.  We are a
fourth grade class from Willie Brown Elementary in Mansfield, Texas.  If
you would like, we could put a link to your site on our site when we are
finished.  We hope to hear from you soon.

Miranda,
Thank you for the clarification.  The image to which you refer, the
"Lone Star Cut" topaz on the TxDOT Kid's Page, is a TxDOT image.  The
actual cut is copyrighted; however, if you are using the only the
gemstone image from our Kid's Page in your Texas report, there should
not be any copyright infringement issues.  We do request that you credit
TxDOT as the source of the topaz image.

Thank you for your inquiry.  Best wishes on your report.

While I was on your website I wanted the picture on the gem cut, and I
just want to copy it.

Thank you for visiting TxDOT's Web site.  Can you please provide us
with more specific details to determine which area of TxDOT or the
state
of Texas would be best suited to handle your request?

Thank you for writing in and requesting permission to use our pictures.
Please feel free to use them in your class project.  If you have any
questions or have any problems getting them to work on your site please let
me know.  Hopefully you can just cut and paste them from our site to yours.

Good luck with your project and let us know if you need any additional help
