$$$$$$ Mr. Dollar
We had a grandparent come and visit our class. He has lived in Mansfield since 1920. Are group now has many facts about the growth of Mansfield. We think it was fun to learn about.
The schools now are more comforting. then they were a long time ago. The schools now have a lot more supplies than they did like air conditioning and more books for your education. There was not any kindergarten and the grades only went up to 11th grade. They would not carry backpacks and they did not have lockers to store anything in. If you did anything you knew you were not supposed to do you would get slapped with a wood paddle.
We think it would be cool to have drive ins and go to movie theaters that would only cost 10 cents. They had to have fans in the back of the theater because there was no air conditioner.
There was no television or phones and no radios and very few cars. Cars would probably cost about 1,000 dollars each and it may sound cheep to you but they did not make a lot of money either. There were no video games. And candy bars only cost 1 nickel plus little pieces of chocolate cost a penny.People started to move to Mansfield when water became more accessible. And did you know you only had to wait till you were 18 to get married. As you can see Mansfield is a great city to live in. We all enjoy it.
