I decided to write about my dad's business located at 1577 Highway 157 North. It was hard to find history about this building because of its size, but I was able to find out a few things. The woman who owned the land was named Elise Ray. She was a nurse who was helping a widower. Soon they got married and the the man died and left the land to her. She decided to lease the land to different people. A lot of people used to work at this small place. One of the first people to work there was a man named Chuck McAndrew. He sold and rented heavy construction equipment such as back hoes, bull dossiers and tractors. His business was named McAndrews Equipment. Soon he got tired of the small and lonely place and he decided to retire. Elise then leased the land and building to another man named Bob Rapp. He owned a place there called Aero Auto Sales. This was a small used car lot. His business grew and grew and decided he would move to Joshua, Texas. The building sat vacant for quite sometime until Elise rented the building to a family that ran a street cleaning business and used the building as their home. They did not take care of the building and left it a mess.

For a long time my dad wanted to own his own used car lot. He decided 1577 Highway 157 North would be the best place. Elise then rented the building to my dad. In the summer of 2002 we cleaned, painted and laid carpet. We also mowed, painted the outside and made a new sign called Mansfield Motors. In late August 2002 my dad opened his new business. Things went well and in March 2003 my dad bought the building and land.
