Mission Statement

It is the intent of the Eastman Youth Soccer Association to provide an enjoyable experience for all players involved. We aim to maintain interest and promote playing opportunity for all soccer players. The primary purpose of the Eastman Youth Soccer Association is to provide quality well organized non-discriminatory recreational opportunities for our members. We are committed to provide and encourage the development of character, good sportsmanship, and the learning of individual and team skills the sport can offer.

EYSA (Eastman Youth Soccer Association) RULES AND REGULATIONS :

  1. The laws of the game must be observed and enforced, this would include dismissal from the game for foul and abusive language, spitting or any other major infringement.
  2. Parents and coaches should only be allowed to enter the field of play with the referee�s permission.
  3. The referee has control over the total game area including the spectators. If at any time the referee feels the spirit or laws of the game are being compromised, suspension of play is an enforceable option.
  4. Substitutions may be made with the consent of the referee:
    - prior to throw-in by team in possession of the ball
    - prior to a goal kick by either team.
    - after a goal by either team
    - after an injury by either team
    - should be kept to a minimum to maintain the flow of the game.
    - coaches may not purposely delay the game by substituting.
    - may be done at the same time as the team in possession of the ball.
  5. Ball sizes: size 3 - 5 to 8 yrs; size 4 - 9 to 12 yrs, and size 5 - 13 to 17 yrs.
  6. Headgear and/or jewelry are not allowed on the field of play.
  7. Players must wear runners or soccer shoes.
  8. Shin protection is recommended for mini soccer and mandatory thereafter
  9. All players must be registered with the Eastman Youth Soccer Association
  10. No referee will be assigned to a game where the players are older than the referee.
  11. The home team will have an alternate jersey or piney and be prepared to change if, in the opinion of the referee, there is a colour conflict.
  12. Weather rules:
    - if threatening weather occurs, the referee will have the option of stopping play or by mutual agreement of the coaches the game may be suspended
    - if half the game has been played before the termination for weather, the game stands as a completed match.
    - if lightning is seen in the immediate vicinity the game will be delayed for 10 minutes after last sighting.
    - games may be played in light to moderate rain
  13. Game cancellation. This MUST be done by 5:45 PM on game day by the home coach who contacts the away coach and the referee.
  14. All games will start at 7:00 PM in May and June.
  15. Coaches and referees have the permission of the Eastman Youth Soccer Association to bring to the attention of the executive poor behavior by any person attending a game.
  16. Throughout the season and at the end of season tournament only players registered to a team in the Eastman Youth Soccer Association, and thus insured, may participate. This may result in two communities joining to provide a team for the tournament. However, a player may only play on one team within his/her age category.
