Back

...sunday, august first, two thousand four...

I have wandered this world far and wide
I've been all around to the other side
But there's nothin' like comin' home
I wanna sit on my front porch and drink my lemonade
Cut my grass after church every Sunday
And go out on Saturday night
Live the simple life
Wake up in the morning to these fields of gold
And take a long walk down a gravel road

Spend my days in the sweet sunshine
Rock in my swing and watch my garden grow
Know that I'll always have someone to hold
Oh I-I-I wanna live the simple life

I wanna take a blanket down to the creek
And let the water sing me to sleep
Let go of time
Live the simple life
Lately I've seen too many city lights
I wanna go somewhere where I can see the stars at night

Spend my days in the sweet sunshine
Rock in my swing and watch my garden grow
Know that I'll always have someone to hold
Oh I-I-I wanna live the simple life

Boat came up Friday night.  Oh, Adam did too.  We went to see the "free" Trews show at Harris Park... which was fantastic, and the pouring rain drenching us all only added to the amazing time we had.  Though it probably caused more than a few of us to be coughy and sick the next day... eh Boat?  *winks*  hehe.
I'm on campus, and everyone around me is surrounded by MCAT books.  Scary.  I want company.  Last night I went home from work, had a nap, watched a movie, and went to bed.  It wasn't overly exciting.  I talked to Samson a bit... but he's only exciting for so long.  *smiles*  And his wee light broke... so now he's in the dark all the time.  Poor Samson.  And we don't even get paid time and a half for the holiday tomorrow... apparently it's not a stat holiday for us.  *rolls eyes*  Ah well, work is work is money.
This week, there are tentative plans for the zoo.  Extremely tentative... as who the hell knows when we'll get the coinciding time off of work to make it happen.  ...One more thing to check off the summer to-do list.  Niagara and Ottawa have been pushed to the fall...
I've finally gotten around to weeding the garden in front of the house.  Mainly because Steve started pulling out the weeds that were growing bigger than me... so I finished it... while we were waiting for the super-kind roofer men to move the ladder to break into my house.  (I kinda got locked out for a day... and Mike, our landlord, is on vacation... *sigh*)  But yes, we got back into my house, eventually... and then we went to Port Stanley to the beach... at 9pm.  Ah long walks on the beach... *giggles*

But yes, my bladder is about to burst due to all the strawberry passion awareness I've consumed.

...tender skin of alabaster...shoulders as white as the peaks beyond the sea...

Yes, I have a tan... I'm slightly pinker than usual.  *giggles*  Damn you sun!

... I wanna go home.  I want country sunshine.  Country nights.  My little sisters.
...tuesday, august tenth, two thousand four...

...cogito ergo sum...

A long relaxing bath with candles and Billie, Ella, Louis and Frank... (Holliday, Fitzgerald, Armstrong and Sinatra that is...) and now chai tea.  Mmm.
Tonight I went to see Dodgeball with Keston, Steve, Lyndsay, Laila and Amanda.  Amanda and Laila were late as Amanda was busy getting the details on the cruise to the Bahamas that she won.  The movie was hilarious, and it was wonderful to socialize with people who I love and rarely see as I am always working.
I learned that the weekend I planned on going home for SarahFest2 and to see my darling family... my family will be away on vacation.  Nearly four months without seeing my dear family... *tear*... so sad.  I guess I will have to wait one more weekend, until Jacquie and Jon's wedding, before I see them again.  Now... as long as I don't have to work... and Jordy doesn't have to work... then SarahFest is a go.  *crosses fingers*
Anyway... I don't have much to say... so I'm out.  *kiss kiss*  Love y'all...
...friday, august twenty, two thousand four...

So, it appears as if I am going to be making it home for SarahFest after all.  Of course, I will not be seeing my family as I had hoped, but I will see them next weekend.  Tonight, I took a bath, read some Atwood, did the dishes and cleaned my room.  Yes, productive!

"Romance takes place in the middle distance.  Romance is looking in at yourself, through a window clouded with dew.  Romance means leaving things out: where life grunts and snuffles, romance only sighs."
-- Margaret Atwood, The Blind Assassin

This is more than romance.  Nearly five months of it.  I still really can't seem to wrap my head around it, it's like proof that the demise of all the others were not my fault.  I wouldn't want things to be any other way... sure, seeing each other more this summer would have been fantastic... but I suppose it makes the time together more precious.  *grins*

Anyhow... off to watch some Family Guy, perhaps some Olympics... and go to bed.  What an exciting Friday night!  ...I'm sure tomorrow will make up for it.
