WCC Staff take Premier title

Warwickshire County Council Staff 2nd lost their final match of the season, but it mattered not. Ahead of nearest rivals, and defending champions, Shades 2nd, the men from Northgate Street had the title in the bag a week ago when they went 12 points clear at the top of the table. Defending champions Shades did their best to close the gap with a 5-2 win this week. Staff eventually taking the title by 10 points.

Promoted from the A Division last season, Lillington 2nd have been relegated back to the A Division, along with already relegated Warwick Conservatives 3rd. The "Cons" going down fighting after recording a 5-2 win this week.

The A Division title went down to the final matches of the season, with four teams fighting it out for the title and promotion. The title was taken by Home Guard 1st, after they recorded a fine 6-1 victory away at Harbury 2nd this week. Starting the week level on points with Home Guard, Lillington 3rd recorded a 4-3 win away at British Legion to clinch the second promotion spot. Kineton and Kenilworth Fire narrowly miss out having started the week two points adrift of the top two. Kineton went down 4-3 at Harbury 3rd, whilst Kenilworth Fire recorded a 4-3 home victory against Bishop's Tachbrook.

At the other end of the table it was another tight affair. Harbury 3rd's win at Kineton and the three points Bishop's Tachbrook's picked up at Kenilworth Fire ensured their safety. Due to winning less matches over the season, Leamington Liberals needed to better Bishop's Tachbrook's result this week to avoid relegation. They were unable to do so and also lost 4-3 against the Police Club. Releagted alongside them are Kenilworth Sports & Social F/C, despite recording an impressive 5-2 win at Nelson 4th.

In the B Division, champions Kenilworth Conservatives signed off with a whitewash 7-0 victory over bottom club Priors 3rd. They finish 8 points clear of Warwickshire County Council Staff 1st, who will join them in the A Division next season.
