I can't believe I'm writing a Poke Team story. I'm a true Persian blue Team Rocket fan, But I'm also a believer in Misty and James getting together and Ash and Jessie getting together. Wait that's not right! In Ash, James getting together, Jessie, and Misty...That's still not right. Well you know what I mean. So hear goes my first attempt at a Poke Team fanfic.
Brock sighted. As usual, he was the first one up. He started breakfast as usual. He glanced over at Misty and Ash, sleeping on opposite sides of what was left of the campfire. A soft grown sounded from one of the sleeping bags. From the sound of it, Ash was feeling a stick or something under his sleeping bag. Ash slowly climbed out of his bag. "Morning." Brock said cheerfully.
"How can you be cheerful in the morning?" Ash asked.
"I've been up for a while." Brock responded.
"Mmmmph." A voice mumbled from the other side of the little camp.
"I think we woke Misty up." Ash said.
"You might as well get her up the rest of the way. Breakfast is ready." Ash walked over to her sleeping bag. She was curled up at the foot of the bag.
"Come on Misty! Up and at 'em." Ash said.
"I'm not coming out!" She screamed from inside the bag. Ash looked over at Brock and shrugged. "Misty, there's a bug on your sleeping bag." Ash said.
"Yeahhhh!" Misty cried jumping out of the bag into Ash's arms.
"Hello." Ash said.
"Keep it away from me!" She screamed.
"Misty, there was NO bug on your bag." Brock said. Misty slid out of Ash's arms.
"Why you...you...you..." Misty screamed looking ready to pound Ash.
"I just wanted to wake you up." Ash said timidly. Misty's face softened.
"Oh."
"Come on you two. The food's getting cold." Brock called.
"So what's on the agenda?" Misty asked.
"Walking." Brock said.
"Oh, isn't there a town nearby."
"Nope, nearest one is a two day walk." Brock said.
"Darn. I was hopping to sleep in a real bed tonight." Misty complained.
After breakfast, they started walking. "Pika!" Pikachu cried after a while.
"What is it Pikachu?" Ash asked.
"Pika pika!" He cried running off. They took running after the electric rodent. When they caught up to Pikachu, they found themselves in a beautiful clearing in front of a stream.
"It's beautiful here." Misty said softly stating the obvious.
"Yeah." Ash agreed.
"Do you think we could stay here for a night?"
"I don't see why not. Do you Misty?" Brock asked.
"It's so nice here, I didn't see why we wouldn't." She responded.
"It's getting close to lunch time." Brock said. "I'll start lunch. Could one of you fill the pan with water?"
"I'll do it." Misty said. "I want to see if they're any cool water pokemon." She ran over to the stream and dipped the pan in. Suddenly the ground she was standing on disappeared. She didn't even have time to call out as she hit the water. Ash heard a splash and turned to where Misty should have been to see that she'd disappeared. "Misty!" He yelled seeing her swiped down stream. He took off running after her with Brock and Pikachu right behind him.
Misty knew she needed to keep her head above water but she was getting tired and her legs and arms had begun to go numb from the cold water. Before she knew what had happened, she hit her head on a rock. She felt the hard surface then slipped into black.
Ash saw her still trying to get to shore. Then he saw her hit her head on the rock and slip under the icy water. Before he could think he jumped into the icy water after her. With the combined force of the current and his powerful strokes, he caught up to her. He grabbed her around the waist to keep her head above water. He grabbed one of his pokeballs and threw it to shore. "Bulbasuar Help!" Ash yelled. Bulbasuar grabbed them with his veins and pulled them to safety. "Misty!?" Ash cried nervously. Brock and Pikachu ran up to them.
"Is she alright?"
"I don't think so."
"Ash, she's not breathing!" Brock hollered. Ash checked. She wasn't breathing! Ash started CPR. After a minute of nothing, she started to cough. Ash helped her roll over.
"Are...are you okay?" He asked nervously. Misty started sobbing. Looking stunned for a moment Ash pulled her into a hug. Stroking the back of her head. "Shh. you're alright." Ash whispered. "We'd better get you two back to camp before you catch cold." Brock said.
"Do you think you can walk?" He asked them. Misty nodded her heard.
"Yeah." Ash said. When they got back to camp Brock started a fire. Ash got out some blankets. "You'd better get out of those wet cloths." Advised Brock.
"Ok." They said. Ash got out two sets of cloths. He handed one set to Misty and kept one for himself.
The rest of the evening was uneventful and Misty said very little. That night neither Misty nor Ash could sleep. Misty kept feeling the cold water sweep over her head. And Ash kept seeing her sink beneath the water. Since neither of them could sleep they both ended up getting up. "Oh, Ash, did I wake you?" She asked.
"No I couldn't sleep. How are you doing?" He asked her.
"Better. I'm still a little shaky." She admitted. After a moment of silence, Misty said. "Ash? Thank you."
"You're welcome. It's a good thing I had some extra clothes." Misty got up, walked to the fire, and sat down.
"Ash, you know that's not what I mean. I meant thank you for saving my life." Misty said a little angry.
"I know." Ash replied quietly.
"Ash, I have to ask you this. We don't really seem to get along. Why did you save my life?"
"You're my friend." Ash said quickly. "And I like you." He added silently. Ash walked over to Misty and sat next to her. "Why didn't you use your pokemon?" He asked. Misty sighed.
"I guess I panicked. I've never been so scared in all my life." She whimpered. Ash comforted her, and they stared talking.
Brock woke up and got out of his sleeping bag. He looked over too where Ash and Misty's sleeping bags were. They weren't there. He looked around in a slight panic. "What if Team Rocket had come?!" His eyes stopped searching when they reached the fire. He saw them cuddling together near were the fire had once been. Brock quietly walked over to Pikachu and woke him up. "Pika?" The groggy pokemon said.
"Shh." Brock responded pointing to Ash and Misty. The rock trainer and pokemon watched the two of them for a moment. Ash slowly woke up. He felt something next to him that was too big to be Pikachu, and to warm to be a rock. He saw Misty still sound asleep. He smiled remembering how the two of them had spent most of the night talking, and not just about pokemon and stuff but really talking. Ash had come close to telling her how he felt. He had enough money to pay her back for her bike. Misty groaned and sat up. She looked over at Ash. His hair was all over the place and he had a speak of mud on his nose.
"Morning."
"Morning."
"How did you sleep?" Ash asked Misty. At this point Brock and Pikachu couldn't take it anymore. They burst out laughing.
"WHAT!" Both Ash and Misty demanded. Brock asked Pikachu,
"Don't they see it?" Pikachu shook his head.
"SEE WHAT!?" they both demanded.
"You two like each other!?" Brock said shaking his head.
"Of course we like each other. We are friends." Ash said. Brock fell over anime style.
"Ash, that's not what I meant! Oh I give up." Brock said walking away.
"Pika!" Pikachu said nervously.
"If you're worried about him getting lost go with him." Ash said motioning towards where Brock had been.
"Pika!" Pikachu called after Brock.
"It's almost like you planned that." Misty said coyly.
"Me!? Plan that!? Why would I plan that!?" Ash asked nervously.
"I don't know, but you look nervous and your voice is getting higher."
"Well um...Misty? I have to tell you something." He said sitting down on a log that was near the fire.
"Ash, are you alright?" Misty asked sitting next to him.
"Yeah. Um...How would you feel if um...I...um.."
"Ash?" Misty asked taking his hand.
"Misty, I love you!" Ash blurted out quickly. Misty looked stunned.
"Misty? Are you ok?" He asked.
"I...I...thought...you...you hated me." She said still looking stunned.
"Well isn't that sweet?" A voice rang out.
"The boy is in love." Another one answered.
"Oh no! Those voices!" Ash groaned.
"Prepare for trouble."
"And Make it double."
"To protect the world from divination."
"To unite all peoples within our nation."
"To denounce the evils of truth and love."
"To extend our reaches to the stars above."
"Jessie."
"James."
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light."
"Surrender now or prepare to fight."
"Hand over the Pikachu.' Meowth ordered.
"Never and besides he's not here!" Ash yelled.
"Weezing! Arbok goooo!" Jessie and James yelled together.
"Arbok squeeze the information out of him." Jessie ordered. Arbok wound around Ash. After a second or two, Ash started to turn blue.
"Ash! Let him go!" Misty yelled.
"Tell us were the rodent is!" James demanded.
"Misty, don't tell!" Ash whispered.
"He's with Brock!" she yelled out suddenly.
"And were is Brock?"
"He went for a walk! Now let him go!" Misty screamed practically crying.
"Let's go find Brock." Jessie ordered. And Team Rocket took off.
"Why did you tell them?" Ash asked gasping for breath.
"I couldn't let them hurt you." Misty said softly.
"Why not!" He demanded. Misty looked at the ground.
"I love you."
"You do?" Ash now looked shocked.
"Yeah."
"Wow. What do we do now?" Ash asked looking at the ground. Misty walked up to Ash so she was standing in front of him.
"Ash?" He looked at her.
"Yes?" They looked into each other's eyes. They leaned towards each other, lips almost touching...Ash suddenly grabbed Misty around the waist and pulled her into a deep intermit kiss. She warped her arms around his neck. They stood there for a moment.
"Ash! Misty!" Brock yelled as he came running with Pikachu at his heels. "Jessie! James! Behind us!" Brock said panting.
"Oh man." Ash moaned. "Let's get ready to battle." Ash ordered.
"Right!" Brock and Misty said.
"Prepare for trouble!" Jessie said from above. Team Rocket was using the balloon again.
"Please! We already suffered through it once!" Misty cried.
"Never interrupt her...er...I mean us!" James yelled.
"Misty." Ash whispered. "Use one of your pokemon and shoot Team Rocket with water gun." "Right." Misty whispered back.
"Pikachu, when she's done thunder shock."
"Pika."
"Staru go!" Misty yelled. "Water gun." Staru's attack was right on. Team Rocket got a cold shower. "Pikachu!" Pikachu screamed shooting lighting off. The balloon popped sending Team Rocket blasting off.
"IT LOOKS LIKE TEAM ROCKET'S BLASTING OFF AGIEAN. *ding*" They screamed. "Good job you two." Brock said.
"Thanks." Ash said putting his arm around Misty. Brock raised his eyebrows. Ash and Misty looked at each other and smiled.
"So you two admit that you two like each other?" Brock asked.
"Yep." Misty said happily.
"You mean you really did like each other?!" Brock asked surprised. "I...I...was just teasing you!" "Pika pi." Pikachu said laughing and rolling on the ground.
"How much further till we get to the next town?" Ash asked changing the subject.
"A days walk. Why?"
"Oh no reason." He said mysteriously. Brock shrugged and started walking towards the town. "Misty?" Ash whispered. "When we get to town, do you want to go out. You know just the two of us?"
"Sure sounds like fun. She replied. Ash smiled at her as she placed her arm around his shoulders.
