She (sarah) Who am I

He says she is funny.
Amusing.
Entertaining.
I live in laughter.
Wide and full, unashamed.
I bring the smiles, and then hold them close.

He says she is insightful.
My intuition
as a woman, is
full-bred and keen.
How I know him well.
It's why I knew before he told me.

He says she is brave.
I will speak, try, cry, fight;
stay or go, either way I must be fearless.
If he lets me, I will sustain him,
even as I must carry myself
with my broken body.

He says she loves the outdoors.
Maybe except the bugs?
I stand and smile in the rain,
or stare at the soft lights in the sky,
because my wonder rests
in the world around me.

He says she likes Native Americans.
And the Cherokee woman said,
"Love is a decision," and I cry.
The rings are swept in a basin of incense,
and the woman continues, "eternal circles of love
given from the Great Spirit, the Creator."

He says she's a good knitter.
I have never knitted.
Yet my hands live to create,
to make and establish, from nothing.
I draw, write, make music, art,
and love.

He says she's good with children.
They used to intimidate me.
They'd stare at me and I'd shrink away.
Now they ask me to play, color, share in their life,
and I play, color, share in their life,
all because I love them, and nature comes.

He says she's been through a lot in her life and survived.
No crimes here, or unnatural pain,
but the simple determination to not
give up, give in, or fall.
I have learned what I need to survive anything
....even his love.
