Strawberries I break into the fleshy fruits removing the pits with my fingers, then hold the hollow berries beneath the rushing faucet. One by one, I lazily rub the dirt from the tender red skin and drop them into a bowl. Later I’ll add a pinch of sugar and slice each into halves before storing them in the cooler. They will taste sweet on your tongue and when you kiss me, your lips will smell like summer. | |||
