We stayed a weekend in Killeen Texas, meeting up with my friend Kristina and her husband Matt. He took us around his army base at Fort Hood, then we went out for a nice Italian dinner and partied the night away in Austin. I've never seen a city with an entire street blocked off, or so many thousands of drunk people just milling around. The closest thing to it would be New Orleans. I think weekends in Austin might just be one of the best kept secrets! My favorite bar of the three we visited was the Dueling Pianos, where two pianos face off and play songs for the audience for whatever tips the audience will (and does!) offer. |

We stopped in New Orleans for a few hours but didn't stay for the night. I'd definitely like to go back and experience this city when I don't have to worry about driving, can buy some beads, and most of all- drink some Hurricanes! |
