As many of you know, I am going to Mali over my winter break, starting December 18th and returning on January 11th. I will be keeping a page here of Mali statistics, travel itinerary, Mike factoids, and once I return, a travel journal linked with pictures, just like I did for my cross country trip. |

For those of you who don't know, my good friend Michael is in the Peace Corps in Bankass, Mali, which is in the Mopti region (see the map above). Currently my itinerary for the trip is sketchy. I'm meeting Mike in Bamako, which is Mali's capital. We'll spend a few days there then make our way back to Mopti. I'm not sure where else we're headed, but as Michael has told me many times, the less travel the better. Apparently long rides in 130 degree heat is no fun. When bottled water burns your mouth, i guess you want to stay away from crowded places like public transport as much as possible! |
