1. Starting off, if it's not too personal, can you explain how you came to know Nick Lea?
Nick and I have known each other since the late 80's where we became friends studying together at the Gastown Actors Studio in Vancouver. You can read all about it in David Spaners new book.. "Dreaming in the Rain".
2. To my counting, you have worked with Nick twice now, am I right? On Freedom Park and Shot In The Face?
Yes. We have done some plays together however, and many scenes in class, and look forward to working together again.
3. Nick was executive producer on Freedom Park, now I find it hard to imagine that Nick did this for the credit because the film is unlikely to be seen by most, so why was he brought in as Exec. Producer on this?
Nick simply helped us out and was an investor in our film. He is a good friend, and believed in the project. That film lead to making a full length feature which is coming out called Break A Leg (where I am a co-writer, lead actor, co-producer) and for all that helped on Freedom Park, we are grateful.
4. I recently spoke to Dave Hansen about Shot In The Face (http://www.geocities.com/leafanone/davehansen.htm) and he said that the lead Bruce Ramsay sent the script to some of his friends, including Nick, so was it Bruce that gave you the script or was it down to Nick?
Bruce is an old and dear dear friend, He sent us all the scripts with the wish that we come and play with him, we thought the script was hilarious and so we went to Regina and played.
5. Could you tell us about your company, Old School Productions, was it just created for Freedom Park or will there be future productions?
It was created for Freedom Park. I will only use it when I direct.
6. Finally, will you or are you planning to ever work with Nick again, if so - details - pray tell. Also, doyou have anything coming that we can look out for?
Nick and I are always looking to work together. He wasn't in my last film, Break A Leg, due to scheduling conflicts. I have recently finished Paycheck, directed by John Woo, the mini series 10.5 for NBC, Andromeda, playing Viceroy Moldar, and am in the upcoming pilot The Handler, playing Lou Renato, to air on Sept 26 on CBS, with the possibility of recurring. I am off to work on Kingdom Hospital by Stephen King in early September. We are also in negotiations to have Break A Leg appear in a theater near you.
