Leading Creek Stream Sweep - April 18, 2009

The 9th Annual Leading Creek Stream Sweep will be held Saturday, April 18, 2009, 9 a.m. to noon at Jim Vennari Park in Rutland, Ohio.
In addition to the good feeling you'll have after doing something great for your community and the environment, you'll also come away with a Leading Creek Stream Sweep T-shirt and  full belly (lunch is provided)!
2009 Photo Contest

The 2009 Photo Contest sponsored by the Meigs Soil and Water Conservation District and the Leading Creek Watershed Group is now underway with this year's theme being "Water and Wildlife."
Photos must be taken in Meigs County and relate to the theme. Open to amateur photographers and Meigs County residents of all age.
A completed
entry form must accompany each entry (limit two photos per person). Photos can be submitted in any format and size, black and white or color. Photos should not be matted.
Deliver photos to the Meigs SWCD in Pomeroy or e-mail them to [email protected]
Submissions must be received at the Meigs SWCD office by Monday, March 30.

Prizes
1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive cash prizes. Photos will be judged by a panel of local experts and residents. Winners will be announced at the annual Leading Creek Stream Sweep at 9 a.m. on April 18 at Jim Vennari Park in Rutland.
Watershed Day Camp - June 3-4

The 5th Leading Creek Watershed Day Camp will be held Wednesday and Thursday, June 3-4, 2009 at the Meigs Soil and Water Conservation District
Conservation Area.
Campers will participate in environmental-related activities from streams to wildlife and a little bit of everything in between.
Cost of the camp is FREE, and lunch and snacks will be provided.
Ohio River Sweep - June 20

The annual Ohio River Sweep will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 9 a.m. to noon at Pomeroy, Racine and at least one other location with Middleport and Syracuse being under consideration.
Participants will receive T-shirts and lunch.
