| Adrift by Lisa Brennan Set adrift on a churning sea tossed about by unknowns and uncertainties I try to obtain balance so as not to capsize I turn in the direction I believe I am supposed to sail only to be broad sided by a rogue wave Screaming out to the wind that no longer blows my sails I hold on tightly while searching for a sign or a reply and I am met with an immeasurable silence that my heart finds unbearable The currents send me this way and that Doubting I will make it to my destination I look to the horizon for hope and calmer seas and setting my sail in that new direction I begin to pray for just the slightest breeze |
