The kit is in two parts the grip assembly which combines both the self adjusting regulator and the 4 way valve and the actuating cocking cylinder assembly.
Most of the servicing and operating procedures is the same as for the Sovereign semi. Your kit will enable you to transfer from pump gun to semi automatic within minutes and no specific technical knowledge or alterations are required to achieve this.
To change from pump gun to semi automatic first remove both front and rear mount screws, disconnect bolt rod from bolt and slide pump assembly off the barrel. If you have a STP you will need to disconnect the hose adaptor from the ASA donkey, you will be left with the barrel and body, bolt, donkey and valve assembly and hammer with main spring, these are common parts between both the pump gun and the semi automatic Sovereign.
From your new kit take the hose adaptor and screw this clockwise into the ASA donkey. With the ASA donkey in the lower chamber place the grip assembly into position and connect the rear mount screw into the ASA donkey.
Now insert steel bypass tubes into the grip assembly to run either side of the spacer bar.
Insert actuating cylinder assembly into the front lower chamber to sit below barrel. Locate bypass tubes into the actuating cylinder legs the longest bypass tube to the front of cylinder and the shortest to the rear. Connect bolt rod to the rear of bolt to the front of the actuating cylinder connecting rod.
Your Sterling has now been converted to semi automatic.
One further modification is recommended and this should be carried out by an authorised service centre, and that is the fitting of ball detent wire although not necessary it will help you play more effectively with your Sterling.
