| Dear friends and family, Finally, this webpage is updated! We realized that we could keep fiddling with it until NEXT January, but we thought we'd force ourselves to stop. Our goal now is to send off updates at least every couple months. What's going on with us? Eric is still planning to graduate this year -- graduation is the last weekend in July and all are invited to join the festivities. Eric has been asked to guest lecture up at the University of Northern Iowa in April; he will present a 3-lecture series on the voice and bio-mechanics. He also just sent out a paper for review to the Journal of Biomechanics -- Laura is looking forward to the hours of back massages he now owes her for the editing she did on it! Eric had a wonderful birthday -- he hardly looks any different now that he is 31! (At least that's what Laura assured him.) Laura has just finished a very hard month at work. She is responsible for a program called, Geriatric Grand Rounds Series, a series of monthly lectures presented across Iowa via a system similar to video conferencing. Because January was the first month in the series (and because many people are just returning from holiday breaks), there were many bugs that needed to be worked out -- and somehow all the bugs appeared the day before the program was to be aired. Our ward is being split today, so she'll find out soon whether she will continue to be the Sunbeam teacher. If any of you have any good ideas, visuals, etc. that you've used in FHE or Primary , she would appreciate all suggestions. |

| This month's movie reviews: | |||||||||||||||||||
| 13 Days This was Eric's birthday movie. We really enjoyed it. No sex, violence, light swearing. Neither of us know enough about the Cuban missle crisis to comment on its accuracy, but it definately had an intense story line. We left the movie feeling pride in the soldiers who serve in the military (although a little nervous about ... well, watch the movie and see). |

| Unbreakable Although we enjoyed the movie, neither of us are sure what to think about this one. It's hard to make any comment on this movie without giving away the story line. No sex, light violence, light swearing. Incredible camera effects. We've decided that their use of a written explanation (to tell us what happens next) was an anticlimax. |
