| Someday I will tuck my face into your neck, reach out with my tongue and taste the skin there, savoring the saltiness. Someday I will smell your scent free of all artificial substances to cover its natural fragrance. Someday I will walk you down the pier on Puget Sound, stand beside you in the rainy breeze and breathe as one the fresh scent of the salty air. Someday I will dance with you among the evergreen trees at the base of Mt. Rainer before we drive to the summit up a breathtaking road scattered with wild animals. Someday I will walk up behind you as you sit with head bent over work and softly rub the back of your neck to ease the aching of long hours. Someday I will join you in a frenzied orgy in the kitchen, accepting and sharing your love affair with food. Someday I will wrap my arms in yours, chest to chest and close my eyes as to feel no other sensation or emotion but our blending. Someday I will lay my head on your stomach as we watch a movie together and feel your hand inside of my hair. Someday I will hold inside of my mouth parts of you that belong to no one else. Nevertheless, for now, I savor the thoughts that take me into sleep each night. |
