This morning when I wakened
And saw the sun above
I softly said"Good Morning Lord"
Bless everyone I love.
Right away I thought of you
And said a loving prayer
That He would bless you specially
And keep you free from care.
I thought of all the happiness
A day could hold in store
I wished it all for you because
No one deserves it more!
I felt so good inside
My heart was all aglow
I know God heard my prayers for you
He hears them all you know.
God knew that everyone needs
companionship and cheer. . .
He knew that people people need someone
Whose thoughts are always near.
He knew they needed someone kind
to lend a helping hand . . .
Someone to gladly take the time
To care and understand.
That's why God gave us FRIENDS
God knew that we all need someone
To share each happy day . . .
To be a source of courage
When troubles come our way.
Someone to be true to us
Whether near or far apart . . .
Someone whose love will always hold
And treasure in our hearts . . .
That's why God gave us FRIENDS.
