Lowton 2 Blackbrook 8
Thanks to Referee Dave Renshaw for attending this fixture. He had been assigned to an U18 game in Skelmersdale which was not played and diverted to Lowton to officiate in this game.
Blackbrook found it hard to play their normal passing game on a meadow more suited to dairy farming than any kind of football. Nevertheless they were always dominant, although there was a loss of concentration in the second half. Referee Dave Renshaw controlled the game well.

Soon afterwards a rare Lowton attack saw the ball hitting the bar before being cleared off the line by the dependable Carl McConville.

Blackbrook then became somewhat complacent in defence and Lowton scored to make it 1-5 on 44m. Three minutes later it became 1-6 when the elegant Adam Gilchrist slotted a Liam Philpott cross home.
On 51m the Lowton 'keeper made a miraculous save from Danny Walsh following great interplay between him, Tommy Hughes ; Adam Gilchrist. Blackbrook then had two goals disallowed within two minutes.
