Sat. 4th Sept.U16's Hindsford Bandits 4, Lowton 0
A good solid start to the season for Hindsford against a Lowton team who worked hard and never gave up.
Perhaps as you might expect in the first game of the season, both teams wanted to keep it tight early on and chances were thin on the ground.
The first real chance a header from Nick Stokoe for Hindsford which hit the crossbar after 10 mins.
Lowton did produce a long range shot on target after 20 mins but this was easily dealt with by Lance Heath in the Bandits goal.
Lowton were trying to catch the Bandits offside but they were caught out after 22 mins when Matt Langin put in Dale Glover to give Hindsford the lead.
It was almost 2-0 after 27 mins when a good dribble by Kris Smith ended in a shot which the Lowton keeper saved well for a corner.
The second goal did come after 35 mins when the same players involved in the first goal combined again and Dale Glover just beat the Lowton keeper to the ball to score.
The Bandits came close again just before half-time when an Adam Farnworth freekick found Daniel Banks who shot just over.
Half time Hindsford Bandits 2, Lowton 0
It took only 5 mins of the second half for Hindsford to make it 3-0 when a Mike Chanel corner found Nick Stokoe free in the penalty area to fire home.
Nick almost scored again 5 mins later but was stopped by a fine save by the Lowton keeper.
Lowton tried to respond but most of their efforts were from long range and caused Lance Heath little trouble.
Midway through the half Hindsford almost got another, when good work by Matt Mcdonald and Matt Langin provided a good cross for Dave Gunning to head at goal and the Lowton keeper made another good save.
The Bandits did get a 4th goal when Mike Chanel found Dale Glover free in the area and Dale coolly scored to grab his hat-trick.
The last chance for the Bandits came just before the end when Daniel Banks set up Nick Stoke but again the Lowton keeper made a good save.
In the end a good win for the Bandits with other good performances from Steve Eccles in defence , who never put a foot wrong, and Ryan Jones and Jonathon Banks who worked hard throughout the game.
Final score Hindsford Bandits 4, Lowton 0
Scorers Dale Glover 3
Nick Stokoe 1
