Hindley 2, Hindsford Bandits 11
The last game of a great season for the Bandits and one which Hindsford finished off in style.
As he has done all season Dale Glover was in the goals again.
Within 18 minutes he had managed to bag four, giving Hindsford an unassailable lead and allowing the Bandits to go on  cruise control for the rest of the game.
The Bandits, as you might expect, played some relaxed football with lots of silky one touch passing, and there were lots of good movement by Dale Glover and Daniel Banks up front. In the centre of midfield Matt Langin and Captain Nick Stokoe were controlling the game while Matt Durkin and Ryan Jones were causing problems for Hindley down the wings.
In fact it was Matt Durkin who scored next with a good header from a Mike Channel corner after 30 minutes and then Matt Langin rounded off the first half scoring with a shot from the edge of the penalty area after 35 minutes.
Half-time Hindley 0, Hindsford Bandits 6
Hindley proved they still had some fight left by pulling a goal back right at the start of the second half but then James Robey, probably the smallest player on the field, managed to extend the Bandits lead by heading home from a corner. Then the same player again headed another goal from the edge of the penalty area after a good cross from Kris Smith to make it 8-1 to Hindsford.
Lance Heath in the Bandits goal, who had been quiet up to now, made a brilliant double save as Hindley had a rare attack but Nick Stokoe then gave Hindsford another goal to increase the lead to 9-1.
Both goalkeepers were now changed with outfield players, Hindley due to an injury and Hindsford to give Lance Heath a chance to get warm.
This allowed Hindley to pull another goal back as the Bandits started to do a bit of showboating with the game entering the last 10 minutes.
The next goal was a very popular one as Dave Gunning, who last year had a broken leg, took a free kick from at least 40 yards and smashed it past the Hindley keeper, well done Dave!
Last goal of the game to make it 11-2 to Hindsford was another popular and extraordinary one as James Robey headed home his third, to make it a hat-trick of headers for the smallest player on the pitch, perhaps size doesn't matter after all!
Hindley never gave up but the Bandits where in the mood to end the season in style and they did.
After the match out came the Champagne and everyone celebrated, most of the players getting dirtier after the game than during it!
A great end to a great season and lets hope next season is just as good.
