Date: 15th January - CUP
Fixture    Douglas Valley 2 v Standish 3

MOM:  David Aspinall
Match Comment: First half was a very even game and should have stayed at 0 - 0 up until half time, however, just before the half time Douglas  Valley broke down the right hand side and the winger sent over a cross that he was not happy with but a Douglas Valley striker was at the far post and looped it over the Standish keeper into the net. 1 - 0 half time DouglasValley
Second half started much brighter for Standish and two substitutions made at half time now started to make a difference. 5 minutes into the half Chris Ochwat (one of the subs) put a great ball through to Callum Sutch and Callum ran onto score 1 - 1. 15 minutes into the half and Standish struck again. Chris Ochwat putting some telling balls through for the Standish attackers to run onto. Mark Stoddard breaking through with a well taken goal 2 - 1 Standish. 20 minutes into half and Mark Stoddard broke free again with only the keeper to lob but managed to lob into his arms. Shortly after another great run from Mark Stoddard and goal 3 - 1 Standish. Douglas Valley were now starting to crank the handle and wave after wave of attacks were repelled by the Standish defence. However, this much pressure was to tell and Douglas Valley finally broke the Standish defence with 5 minutes to go 3 - 2 Standish. These last 5 minutes seamed like an eternity and finally the whistle went final score Douglas Valley 2 - Standish 3.
Although the MOM went to David Aspinall for some heroic work at right back, there were a number of players worthy of mention from this endeavour, Dean Lefeuvre, Sam Derbyshire, Jason Sharples, Scott Wadeson, Callum Sutch  Mark Stoddard.
