Well done to all the players who took part in last nights Inter-League match from both our reps and those from Craven Minor.  We had good support from parents also at Athwerton Colliery Pitch but this was not enough when the lottery numbers of 10 and 16 came up for Craven.

Craven presented a strong team with better overall fitness, physical presence and a pechant for the long ball to the fast and efficiant forwards. The result could have been much worse if it had not been for the solid defending of Gary Langdon for L&DYL who's solid play never waned the whole game. Piping him for the overall team player was Keeper, Martin Cruden who played a fantastic game but lost out to a few defensive errors,

Craven worked hard for their first half lead of 0-3 and deserved the half time lead. Leigh came out and out shone the visitors for 20 minutes to try and get back into the game. at 1-3 it looked as if we where on the way back - then Craven finished it off. 

The end of our Inter-League for this season at an early stage but we would wish the victors of Craven Minor every success in the next round of the competition.
