Springtime

A burst of color sprung up today
First sign of spring's sweet bouquet
Precious petals pushed their way through frozen ground
Suns rays waiting patiently as they are crowned

Drab colors of brown and black
Stepping aside as bright colors attack
Wiping away the ho hums of winters wrath
To lounge basking in a sunshine bath

Magnolia trees with buds of pink and white
Reaching toward the heavens with all their might
The dogwood trees in full white bloom
Filling the air with exquisite perfume

Hyacinths breaking ground as the snow thaws
Purples and pinks to brighten the cause
Joining in the dance with all the fellows
Daffodils in white and yellows

Springtime is the best time of year
The start of life new and dear
Bursting with a bountiful of color
Just the beauty is worth every dollar
