Working with the Local 4H Group

We enjoy working with the different groups and associations, showing them the freeze branding process and going over theft prevention. Here a group of 4H kids came out to Worden Stables in Pearland, TX to see the process and work on some branding designs of their own.
The horse is restrained with a humane twitch and with my husband in charge of the front end, I start to work on the back end, showing the group how we decide where to place the irons for a good branding result. After shaving off the hair and applying the alcohol, we used two seperate irons to make the owner's registered brand on the horse. The group was fascinated by the frozen imprint left on the horse after the irons were removed.
