The Relief Society is the women's organization of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Founded in March 17, 1842
by the Prophet Joseph Smith in Nauvoo, Illinois, it is one of the oldest and largest women's organizations in the world. Its purpose is to bring women ages 18 and above, and their families to Christ and to help them become better women and homemakers.
