There
is no "minimum" distance. If it's a problem, it counts. Examples are someone
a few hours away (without a car), or someone a few thousand miles away
(without a jet). Also, the concept of "relationships" is fairly open. If you
have strong feelings for someone, it's a relationship.
So
what IS the LDR-Support Group? It's a group of people of all ages and nationalities,
who support each other. We talk about our relationships, our
problems (whether related to the distance or not), and ways to cope. We
help others deal with this whole LDR thing, and, in return, we
get help from those others. If you're
having trouble with your LDR, or if you just need to know that there's someone
else out there going through what you're going through, we'll help.
However,
LDR-Support is a group for *existing* relationships. Most of
the people on the list already have a SO, so trying to pick up a date for some
hot cybersex or what have you would NOT be a good idea here.
The
list works by subscribing to the email group everyone receives all the
emails and you can contribute your ideas, opinions and suggestions to
any or all of the emails. If your having a bad day or need help with an
issue email the group and get the support and advice from the other members
on the list.Over time firm friendships are formed to the point
that even after many couples get married and together
they remain
on the list to continue to support the rest of us and to
give us inspiration and hope to continue believing in our dreams.
