One of the most stunning feature in NOLA is the architecture. You can really get a feel for the history of the city just by ambling through the Garden District or the French Quarter. Hell, even Burbon Street looks perfectly normal by daylight!
I admit that we never went into the Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre, but I did think the sign itself was interesting. After we got back, I found out that the theater is supposedly haunted by over three identified ghosts. I wish I'd thought to see a production.
Is it Louis himself? Nope, just a mannequin of him in the Garden District Bookshop, home to Vampire paraphernelia galore. Really from the brain scan T-shirts to the used monitor upon which a novel was written, I was overcome by the frightful merchantilism. Who'd pay fifteen dollars (US) for a bookmark anyway?
Unless I got my photos confused, Elvis stayed here for a time. Nice hotel, isn't it? We passed it on one of the many outstanding nighttime ghost tours which run year long in New Orleans. The Haunted History tours were a lot of fun!
