We had a bit of a debate about whether to include Dublin on our already packed itinerary, but Julia and I insisted that we had to make a pilgrimage to the Guinness Storehouse at St. James Gate.
Monday night we stayed in a brick townhouse B&B in an upscale section of the city just South of the center of Dublin called Ballsbridge. There were many foreign embassies in the neighborhood.We were within easy walking distance to downtown.
We had limited time to see the sights before setting out for the wilds of Galway on the West coast. We made brief visits to the National Art Gallery, Trinity College and the Book of Kells before making our way to the Guinness Storehouse and then taking a taxi back to our B&B to get ready to head West. |
