DIES AT QUINCY SOLDIER'S HOME

Riley Lee a former well known resident of this community, died at the Soldiers' Home at Quincy Thursday of last week, being nearly 79 years of age. The body was brought to Lovington Saturday morning and taken to the home of Mr Lee's daughter, Mrs Hugh Duvall. Furneral services were held from the Christian Church Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by ministers of the church Gilbert _______ and Rev. T. A. Adams, of the Methodist Episcopal church. Interment was at the Kellar Cemetery.
        Riley Lee was born in Coles County, Illinois, where he grew to manhood. On June 21, 1861, when twenty six years of age, he enlisted for service in the Civil War in Company H, 21st Illinois Infantry Volunteers. He was honorably discharged from the service February 13, 1865.
        He died February 13, 1913, at the Soldiers' Home, Quincy, Illinois, having lived at the Soldiers' Home at Quincy and Danville most of the last twenty years.
        In his early life, with his wife, he united with the Baptist Church.
        One sister and two brothers are still living. One brother, John Lee, of Westfield, and a nephew, Elmer Cox, also of that place, were present at the funeral. Deceased's wife, who is living with the oldest son, Nat Lee of Gardner, Kans, was not able to be present on account of ill health. One daughter and one son is dead. There survive him, one daughter Mrs. Hugh Duvall, of Lovington, and four sons, the eldest, Nat Lee of Gardner Kans, being the only one not able to be present. The other are Perry Lee of Gardner Kans., R.T. Lee of Lake City, _____ and L.E. Lee of Albert City, ________. There also survive him seven grandchildren and three great-grand-
children, three sons and one daughter of Walton.
