ALLEN MAN KILLED WHEN STRUCK BY LIGHTENING (Bowling Green Paper - 8/20/68)
Scottsville, Ky. -- Rufus (Doc) Witt, 58, Route 2, Scottsville, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday when struck by lightening on the Browder-Tatum farm in the Maynard Community. A veteran of World War II, he was a farmer. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Crow Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Margie Maynard Witt, Route 2, Scottsville; his father, Jim Witt, Franklin; a daughter, Mrs. Leslie White, Fountain Run; a sister, Miss Opal Witt; four brothers, Paul and Earl Witt of Franklin; Roddie Witt, Halfway, & Joe Witt, Nashville, Tenn., and two grandchildren.
