LONNIE MEADOR, SR. (Sullivan Progress 6/30/1984)
        Funeral Services for Lonnie Meador, Sr., 65, of Bethany were held at 1:30 pm today (Wednesday) in the McMullin Funeral Home in Sullivan. Burial was in the Bethany Cemetery. He died at 10:10 pm Sunday in St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur. Born September 27, 1918 in Allen County, Ky, he was a son of John David and Emma Jent Meador. He was a retired welder for Progress Inductries in Arthur and a WWII veteran. He married Geneva Bridges October 14, 1939 in Allen County, Kentucky and she survives. Other survivors include sons, Lonnie Jr. of Findlay and James of Jackson, Tennessee; daughters Louise Bragg, Sharon Green & Sue Stevens, all of Sullivan; brother, Jack of Gamaliel, Kentucky; sisters, Zadie Gregory & Stella Brown, both of Sullivan, & Catherine Yarnell of Wayne City; 14 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren.

        BETHANY -- Lonnie Meador Sr., 65, of Bethany died 10:10 p.m. Sunday (June 17, 1984) in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in McMullin Funeral Home, Sullivan, with visitation one hour before service time. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. Mr. Meador was born in Allen County, Kentucky, son of John David and Emma Meador. He was a retired welder for Progress Industries, Arthur, and a World War II veteran. He married Geneva Bridges in 1939.        
        Surviving are his wife; sons, Lonnie Jr. of Findlay, James of Jackson, Tennessee; daughters, Louise Bragg, Sharon Green, and Sue Stevens, all of Sullivan; brother, Jack of Gamaliel, Kentucky; sisters, Zadie Gregory and Stella Brown, both of Sullivan; Catherine Yarnell of Wayne City; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
