HERSHEL E. SLOAN, JR. -- (Franklin Favorite -- December 22, 1983)
Hershel E. Sloan, Jr., 50, of Franklin, died December 9 at the Franklin-Simpson Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Services were held December 11 at Booker Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Vaught officiating. Burial was at Shady Grove. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late Hershel Sloan and Mrs. Della Sloan who survives. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Mrs. Patricia Hite Sloan of Franklin; seven daughters, Mrs. Wanda Spears, Mrs. Shelia Hinton, Ms. Teresa Sloan, Mrs. Peggy Turney, Miss Ginger Sloan and Miss Lisa Sloan, all of Franklin and Mrs. Linda Webb of Russelville; four sisters, Mrs. Verda Saylors and Mrs. Ann Towe, both of Franklin, Mrs. Faye Wyatt of Glasgow and Mrs. Dean Randolph of Bowling Green, nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
