CLARA BRIDGES -- (Decatur Herald and Review)
Clara Shockley Bridges, 59, of 1016 West Pershing Road died 8:30 a.m. Wednesday (April 15, 1981) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Brintlinger's Pershing Funeral Home, with visitation after 6 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Keller Cemetery, Lovington. Mrs. Bridges was born in Fountain Run, Kentucky, daughter of Ben and Messie Shockley. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church, Fountain Run. Surviving are her son, Merle of Decatur; daughters, Mrs. Ben (Carol) Whitaker, Mrs. Merle (Ruth) Patterson, both of Decatur; Mrs. Sam (Janie) Senters of Kennedy; brothers, Martin Shockley of Scottsdale, Kentucky; Finis Shockley of Fountain Run; sisters, Flossie Altaburn, Mrs. Eunice Pollan, both of Fountain Run; Nettie Brooks of Bowling Green, Kentucky; seven grandchildren. One daughter and one brother preceded her in death.
