HISTORY
The Locos Delinquente 187 Brotherhood or the LAMBDA DELTA FRATERNITY is an Engineering, Science and Technology oriented fraternity. Founded sometime in the month of September 1995 on is mother chapter the Mapua Institute of Technology which is located in a silent walled city Intramuros just right in the heart of the capital city of the pearl of the orient seas the Philippines.
The Fraternity simply started in a simple card game which all Filipinos commonly play. Through this game six engineering student arrived on an idea of founding an organization or a brotherhood which concerns the benefits of students in the field of technical studies. After several days and due to the uncollapsible binding force of the six students, Started the birth of a small but strong brotherhood the Locos Delinquente 187 which derives its name from a Hollywood film which was their favorite and a box office on that time. The fraternity officially started on September 10, 1995 in its mother chapter. And on the month of January 25 1996 the fraternity celebrated its first season anniversary of recruitment in commemoration of the foundation day celebration of its mother chapter having its first pioneering recruits or pledgee which where all engineering students of the same institution. After a year the fraternity ratified it's first constitution concerning the benefits an LD187 member may avail and officially calling an LD187 member as a Chicano. Because of certain circumstances the said constitution was misplaced and was concluded as nowhere be found. Years passed and the fraternity continued to grow the council of Alumni decided to ratify a new constitution but was not finished until present. The fraternity until present only relies its actions on it codes of ethics and rules of obligations.
On the year 2002 the use of Greek initials Lambda Delta Phi was proposed during the fraternity's general meeting but was first disapproved because of certain reasons being explained by the council of alumni. After a year the use of the Greek name was approved by omitting its last initial which was PHI (F) because of the existence of a foreign fraternity Lambda Delta Phi. The officers and advisers finalized the fraternity's Greek name to be LAMBDA DELTA FRATERNITY and adopted the 3 virtues Knowledge, Brotherhood and Responsibility. The existence of the fraternity until present is a big accomplishment in the part of the magic 6.
Until present the fraternity continued to exist and gained more members and chapters in selected Institutes and Universities in the capital of the Pearl of the Orient Seas.
