LanaWrites

Welcome to LanaWrites...my home on the web.

                                            Who is Lana Writes?

I am Lana Straub, a freelance writer working deep in the heart of West
Texas.

I live, work, and play  in Stanton with my husband and son.  This website is a
culmination of all my interests: wife, mother, businesswoman, writer,
community leader and Christian.  I hope that you find enjoyment in my interests.

In my rare private moments, I enjoy Tae-Kwon-Do, fencing, and playing
saxophone and volunteering in local charitable organizations.
Despite my busy schedule, I always carve out enough time each day to
devote to my writing passion.

My motto is, “If you want to write bad enough, you will.”

I have a bi-monthly family business advice column, “All in the Family,”
featured in the Water Well Journal (www.ngwa.org).
I also write columns on novel writing and organization for Writer Online
(www.writeronline.us), CoolStuff4Writers (www.coolstuff4writers.com) and
Cross & Quill www.cwfi-online.org).
My current work in progress is Reconciling Ruth, a novel based on my
grandmother’s life.
I am the West Texas Regional Representative for the National
Association of Women Writers (www.naww.org) and a distance member of
the Abilene Writers Guild (http://www.abilenewritersguild.org).  I am the
Treasurer for the West Texas Writers and President of the Martin County
Friends of the Library.

While you are here, please check out my online store,
where you will find products that I've found helpful for
juggling all the important things in my life including
writing, business, and parenthood.
