This other half of my life has a lot of my closest friends and most interesting, fun, and beautiful people I've ever met. My whole Gay Life really began when I got introduced to the Lesbian, Gay, And Bisexual Youth Project. I was 17 and I went on the winter retreat knowing no one. The two who ran the place were Mark and Leigh-Anne. They made me feel welcome and the really opened my life up in such a positive way, it's crazy. They really have a dream job making so many youth feel accepted and alive. God Bless you guys! On my first retreat I met Steven, Justin, Johnathan, Brenden, Jason, JD, and others. On the summer reatreat, though, was were I met most other people. Here was were I met Eric, Sebastian, Karla, Bailey, Semi, Brian, Rodney, Gaboo, Cory, Josh, Mikie, and many others. On the next winter retreat was where I met Daniel, Anthony, plus. Then on the Summer 2003 retreat is where I met Donna, Kenny, Christina, Scott, and others. On these retreats and other "Gay Events" are where I met some of the most beautiful, lovely people. I love all of you from the bottom of my heart. You guys have no idea how much all of you mean to me. When I'm around all of you guys I feel like my true self and I feel so happy inside! I hope you all know just how special and important you all are. God bless all of you! Ok, ok, I know some of you are gagging by now from my overwhelming sweetness, so I'll stop! :-)
Oh, and to "The Family" (you know who you are) remember on the Winter retreat on the last night there, we had a little dance in one of the rooms? After Mark told us we had to turn down the music, we said "One more song!". That was "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera. We all stood in a circle, arm in arm and sang at the top of our lungs! Remember that/ Now that was definately the highlight of all the retreats put together! |
