Regional Hospice of Greater Danbury
Let's make our goal $4,000 for 2009-
that is a mere $50.00 per bowler -
if there is any organization to support - this is the one!!

I would really like to see MORE participation in this fundraiser - with all the bowlers we have (85 to be exact in 2008) we had a MERE 16 participate. And those 16 raised $1000 - can you imagine how much it COULD have been if MORE bowlers participated!!
THAT IS REALLY SAD!!

WE NEED TO GET MORE PEOPLE INVOLVED - I REALLY HOPE THE PARENTS GET THE KIDS INVOLVED THIS YEAR AND MAKE THIS A PRIORITY - YOU CAN'T FIND A BETTER CAUSE TO SUPPORT - i hope none of you ever need the help and support of Hospice - but maybe if you do at some point in your lives you will understand why it is so crucial to help them!!
Each year we do a fund raiser for Hospice - you will raise money by flat donation or by pin - we will designate one week of the season in March to the Bowl-a-Thon - anyone that has sponsored you by pin will pay you what your total pin fall for that week (what you bowl in league) and that will be their donation - after the all the donations are turned in - I will post the results on this page
When we submit our donation to Regional Hospice at the
GDUSBC Hall of Fame Breakfast/Breakfast with the Pros - the donation will be
In Memory of George P. Jowdy, Sr.
Lore's Juniors made a donation to Regional Hospice totalling $1,000.00 on April 13, 2008
In Memory of George P. Jowdy, Sr.
My family appreciates all the families that participated in this
fundraiser and look forward to topping it next season!!
My dad, George P. Jowdy, Sr. lost his battle with cancer on July 20, 2006.  Hospice helped him and my family deal with his illness, and helped us understand what he was going through every step of the way.  They came to the house and took care of his needs, and helped in whatever way they could.  We could not have asked for better people and caregivers than we had.  You never realize what Hospice does until they touch your lives.  We couldn't have gotten through without their help.  I, as well as the rest of my family, are thankful they were there in our time of need.  Hopefully none of you will ever need their services - but if you do - you will understand what I am trying to say.  They touch your lives and they are the angels that you will never forget.
