| These websites want you to buy their books, and that is convenient for us because they try to whet your appetite with reviews, professional and amateur, as well as a few pages of the books, sometimes. So you might try . . . Amazon or Barnes and Noble |
| This has links to various bestseller lists of the moment. Very a la mode. Just keep in mind that Harry Potter is not American. There are also some genre break downs. Very handy. |
| Not so long ago, the Modern Library put out a list of the best novels written in the English language in the 20th century. It's a pretty typical list, but watch out for those Brits! (Remember: American literature) |
