Science outside the classroom

1. Read this first… Quackwatch science page

2. Go to Quackwatch.org

3. Scroll down the main page to “Questionable Products, Services, and Theories.”

4. Find a topic that relates to human A& P (I think they all do) and that you think looks interesting. You could also use the feature entitled “Special Message for Cancer Patients Seeking Alternative Treatment” at the top of the main page if this topic interests you. It is a sad one.

5. Read the article and answer the following questions:

1. What are the Questionable Products, Services, and/or Theories you researched?

2. What did you find surprising about the article you read?

3. What questions would you like to ask the author of the article?

4. Do you think the author based their conclusion on science or non-science?

5. What is your opinion of the product, service or theory? Did this article change your opinion or reinforce an opinion you already had?

6. What other comments do you have about this article?
