BIOGRAPHY: Spencer is buried in the Haw River Methodist Church cemetery, along with his wife Mary E. HILL and his children Charles, Celia, and Gertrude. This cemetery was originally the Trollinger family cemetery, and has traditionally been the burying place of those connected with the Trollinger family. It was laid out by the first known settler of Haw River, Adam Trollinger. Spencer was a charter member of the Haw River Methodist Church, and after his death a resolution was filed in the church records and with the Protestant Methodist Herald.
