30th August 2001 - Availability Report

        The squad has a few missing faces for the opener this week. Seth Knoop is suspended, Blong Her is playing in a tournament in Fresno, California. Also in today's training  Goalkeeper/Defender C.J. DeFord picked up a leg injury and Julian Joseph received a bruised shin. It is too early too tell how bad these injuries are but a better idea should be heard tomorrow.

30th August 2001 - Map to the Hope Soccer complex

        Here is a map showing the location of the soccer pitch where LCC plays its home games. The first game is this Saturday at home to Kellogg's CC. 

29th August 2001 - New Section to Site

        We will shortly be opening a new section with information on every player that has played for LCC, as players leave the squad there info will be copied here. This will hopefully be up in early september.

29th August 2001 - Provisional Squad announced

        After a successful try-out period over the past few weeks a provisional final squad was announced today. The squad site will be updated around the 4th September and will be available here, until then you can check out this temporary page: 2001 Roster

29th August 2001 - Dattenden added to squad, Seth Knoop and Eric Cole questionable. 

        There is a question mark over Cole and Knoop as the two have failed to report for training. The squad will be prepared to run without them and they are unlikely to be considered for Saturday's squad, despite being named on the squad list. Knoop is the teams sweeper and Cole is the main central midfielder, and the two will be missed. There is a chance that they will still join the squad but an agreement must be reached on training. 

28th August 2001 - Her returns, sort-of

        Blong checked in for training after returning from injury. However Blong will not be available for selection this Saturday as he will be taking part in a tournament in Fresno, California. 

26th August 2001 - Tex leaves for Maryland

        Oladinni "Tex" Olatunde left LCC soccer to attend the University of Maryland. Although no definative offer of a scholarship has been received Tex hopes that he will make the team. The coaches of LCC soccer wish him well in his chosen educational path.

2nd August 2001 - Tryouts announced

        There will be tryouts held at the Riverfront park next to LCC on Wednesday 15th August from 6-8pm. All interested parties should attend this session, there will also be an additional tryout on Friday 17th at the same time for players that make it past the first stage. Initially it looks like there may be a number of openings in all areas, most likely about 8-10 players will be taken on board.

2nd August 2001 - Training to start

        Training will be starting on Tuesday 14th August at 4.00pm, and will go on for about two hours. From the week after that training will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 4.30 - 6.30. This should allow players to get to the training ground after the most popular 2-4 classes have ended.

1st August 2001 - Jettie, Chalo commit, Nelson leaves 

        The commitments are all but done as defender Chalo announced that he would return next season. Also committing was Scott Jettie. Scott played most of last year and really started impressing towards the end of the season. Scott will play soccer alongside cross country duties as he has opted to join both LCC teams. Finally goalkeeper Mark Nelson, who played in one game last year announced that he will be working full-time and therefore was ineligible to play for LCC.
