Riparian Forest Buffer
Definition:   An area of trees and shrubs located adjacent to streams, lake, ponds, and wetlands.

Purpose:    To impove  streambank stability; reduce excessive amounts of sediment, organic material, nutrients, and pesticides in surface runoff; and improve wildlife habitat.

Conditions Where Practice Applies:
      Along perennial or intermittent streams, lakes, ponds, and wetlands.
