Heavy Use Area Protection
Definition:   The stabilization of animal feeding areas frequently and intensively used by animals, by surfacing with suitable materials, and/or installing needed structures.

Purpose:    This practice may be used as part of a livestock waste management system to reduce soil erosion and improve water quality.

Conditions Where Practice Applies:
     When relocating a confined animal feeding operation and concrete bunk pads are present at the existing site.
