Jim Fuller is a second year student at LC, with an avid interest in various types of art. Not only has Jim written, directed and produced his own independent films, he has also written poetry and incredible short stories for the past five years.
Fuller’s work is detailed with exceptional character development and overall dynamic creativity. Fuller said that writing just comes naturally to him and aside from the use of his imagination and time to get his ideas on paper, the process is pretty much effortless.
His characters are almost always completely imagined, few are ever taken from his life experience, and he enjoys learning about them as his mind invents their personalities. Fuller tends to have his characters fully detailed before he even begins developing the plot of a story. Before he puts anything down on paper he has most of the framework already mapped out in his mind, and a tentative beginning, middle and an end to a story; however, once he begins writing it generally takes on a life of its own.
Fuller loves to write fictionalized stories from a historic perspective. For a time piece, he spends a lot of time researching the details of the time and place he would like to use for his work. Though his characters are always imagined the setting in his stories are always based on authentic periods of time and from the relevant perspective of the era.

Art and writing run in the blood in Jim’s family. His grandmother Velma  Huthchinson was a writer. Some of her work was published locally in the Alton Telegraph. Fuller has not yet put forth the effort to get published. He is taking his time and building upon his craft, though he does plan to be published in the future.
