Why did you want this position? It gives me the
chance to interact with LC students to a greater degree and to make college
a more pleasant experience for all.
What qualifies you for this position? I was the
Student Trustee during the 2001-2002 school year. I also served as VP of a
non-profit organization.
What is the biggest issue involving students at LC
that you plan on doing something about? What do you plan to do? One
of the biggest issues at any junior college is a lack of student
involvement. I plan to organize events to get students interested in extra
curricular activities and Student Government.
What would you like the student body to know about
you? I’m not as old and crotchety as I appear at first glance. |

Name: Stephanie Hoke
Age: 19
Major: Undecided
Why did you want this position? I feel that if
I’m going to be spending two years at Lewis and Clark, I might as well have
a say in what happens.
What qualifies you for this position? I have
been a member of student government since the seventh grade, and I’ve held
high positions in government and other oranizations.
What is the biggest issue involving students at LC
that you plan on doing something about? What do you plan to do? I
want to bring more activities to LC that students want to have here. I am
going to try to boost student involvement in campus activites.
What would you like the student body to know about
you? I am easily approachable and open-minded, and I’m younger than
the President. |

Name: Amy Foster

Major: Child Developement
Why did you want this position? She was
appointed to this posistion by the president.
What qualifies you for this position? Previous
Experience in student government, and connections with a diverse group of
students.
What is the biggest issue involving students at LC
that you plan on doing something about? What do you plan to do? Make
LC a better place.
What would you like the student body to know about
you? I am a nice person. I am also the school mascot, the Blazer
Bear. |

Name: Jessica Schlemer
Age: 19
Major: Pre-law
Why did you want this posistion? I thought it
would be good for me to become active in school government.
What would you like the student body to know about
you? I am attending my second year at LC. I live at home with my
parents in Bethalto and graduated from Civic Memorial in 2001. I have been
active in sports throughout high school, and continued on in basketball for
this school. Weekends are the only time I work as a waitress because of my
busy schedule. Also, I like to hang out with my friends whenever I have free
time to relax. |

Name: Jeremy Smith
Age: 22
Major: Architecture/CAD
Why did you want this position? I was nominated
by Tim Rooney and accepted, because I thought it would be fun and a good
experience.
What qualifies you for this position? My
reliability and creativity
What is the biggest issue involving students at LC
that you plan on doing something about? What do you plan to do? I
think a big issue with students if finding fun things to do that they were.
We try to offer a variety of activities, but it seems that the vast majority
of students wonder where in the world we came up with some ideas. I plan on
talking to the students more to find out what they would like, and to plan
by that.
What would you like the student body to know about
you? I’m very open to student’s ideas, if they’d like to contact me
with any suggestions, it would be very helpful. |
