The Central Library in Arlington has just announced the availability of an aviation program. If you are interested in career exploration in the field of aviation or just want to be inspired by women who were pioneers in the aviation field, check out the presentation portion of these programs. (as a Girl Scout, any flights on noncommercial aircraft taken as a result of the presentation of these programs are not being promoted, affiliated or controlled by Girl Scouts - Circle T Council, Inc.)"

Dear Circle T,
The Arlington Central Library is having two programs as part of our Celebration of Flight that I thought the Girl Scouts might be interested in. One is on November 22 and is a film entitled Above and Beyond: 100 years of women in aviation. It looks at what women have done in aviation to this point and introduces vocational and avocational options for now and into the future. it is targeted to women and young ladies in particular. The film is only about 30 minutes long and is a fun film to watch. The second program is December 4 and is a presentation by Wally Funk who was one of the women in the Mecury 13 program that secretly trained women to be astronauts. The program came under political pressure and was canceled before any of the women flew a space mission. Wally is lots of fun and is a great speaker.   There are flyers available to both programs.
Thank you so much, Starr S Krottinger, Public Services Administrator
