Implementation Of These Standards By Marilyn Mattie Klein, M.A., M.S.W. In an unprecedented historic event, Rabbis of L'maan B'nos Yisrael International have issued standards for Batei din that deal with matrimonial problems. These standards are designed to eliminate many of the abuses that have resulted from current practices. Rabbis all over the world are asked to join in this effort, publicize it in their communities, lend their names, and support and educate the members of their communities and, most important, insist that the Batei Din adhere to these standards. We strongly urge all Batei Din to follow these salient points that are designed to protect Klal Yisrael from abuse by the Bet Din process. We strongly urge all participants in a marital Bais Din proceeding to accept only a Bais Din which will agree in writing to abide by these principles. L'maan B'nos Yisrael International will only advise and recommend that individuals avail themselves of the services of Batei Din that strictly adhere to these well-thought-out and protective standards. Anyone who submits to a Bais Din that does not adhere to these standards does so at his/her own risk.
