Announces Pre-Pesach AGUNAH GET DAY Sunday April 17,2005

Pesach is a time for celebrating our freedom and rededicating our homes to a Torah way of life. We cannot sit comfortably at our seder, saying Kulanu benei chorin (we are all free), when so many of our Jewish daughters are denied their basic right of freedom to remarry because they are Agunot. This Nissan, Jews in every community all over the world are challenged to encourage recalcitrant husbands and fathers of Jewish children to act in accordance with Jewish law and to free their Agunah wives by giving them a get before Pesach. Men who have received a heter meah Rabbanim and have not given their wives a get must do so immediately.
Batei Din will be ready and prepared in various locations all over the world to facilitate the get process. In an attempt to participate in this mitzvah L’maan B’nos Yisrael International will cover the cost of the Sofer.
Please remember that evil triumphs when good people do nothing.
Alone we can do little. With the help of Hashem, together, we can accomplish much.
