My wife and I started corresponding with each other in 1997, I met her through my friends wife, "her aunt."Communication was a real challege at first, I spoke no chinese and she was just learning english, so it was slow going at first. After writing each other for a year I decided to go and visit her in China, it was a great experience meeting such a wonderful woman and visiting a country with a culture so freindly. We had a lot of fun in those 2 weeks and got to know each other a little more. Two more years would pass before we would see each other again but we stayed in contact with each other regularly via email. I popped the question in 1999 and she accepted, so in October of 2000 I went over again and we tied the knot in Huizhou, a city not far from the town she's from. We had a wonderful honeymoon on the island of Hainan, a huge island in the south china sea. |
